Blanketed in Love

from $16.00

This is a mixed media piece with a lot of fabric incorporated. Again, using fabric on my pieces reminds me of my mother who would sew not only our clothing, but also piece together quilts. She taught my siblings and I how to make stitches to tie the comforter together as the unfinished blanket was stretched out over a cotton batting with a backing material between four boards, filling up our living room.  Just like the quilting bees from old, our living room was often filled with the sounds of stitches being pulled thru the thick layers, laughter with my sisters and mom,  as well as the occasional  “ouch!” if we stuck ourselves with a needle. Forget-me-not’s were a common sight when wandering around the farm, so included those as well.

Giclee prints available - ready to frame!
