As if swirling in a dust storm on the Gobi desert, this sweet girl emerges from the painting. Hair blowing from behind and eyes bright. After almost 5 years of living in Mongolia, the country holds a part of my heart. If you look closely, you can see a bit of a Mongolian pattern on the red trim of her bright “del” coat. I had no further to look than my closet to pull out a hand-sewn del of my own, in order to take a close look at the pattern for a reference to paint from. Blue and red and bright goldish yellow. The same colors you will find in the Mongolian flag.
