Tucked away in Northern Mongolia, next to Siberia, there is a small community where I lived from 1995-1999. Only a few short years spent there, yet forever in my heart. These people are hardy, rugged, yet kind and loving. This gentleman looks like he is REMINISCING of other times. Don’t you wish you could sit down and hear his incredible life’s story? The mountains depicted are from a reference photo that I myself took while traveling in Northern Mongolia. The ghers, (yurts) to the left are sprinkled across the countryside there. The original photo of this gentleman was taken by a professional Mongolian photographer, Bayar Baltgansuren. Complete permission was given to use his photos as a reference for painting and selling.
